Hey ya’ll!!! Happy Monday!

I really want to talk about these boots and my take on the over the knee boot trend. They are super popular right now. You probably picked up on this yourself if you are a consistent fashion blogger and or reader. So these last few months I have been looking for the perfect OTK boot! Not for the sole purpose of following the trend but because they are absolutely adorable.  I decided to let the research commence!!  One of my favorite bloggers wears these (Olivia Watson of Livvyland.com).  I almost went for those because I love her style (and the color taupe)!!! However, at the last minute I decided I wanted to wait and look around some more.  I think hers are adorable though!!!  Most of the really high end bloggers wear these. Love them and I think they are amazing but I’m not really the 3-inch stiletto heel type of girl. I also can’t afford them.  I’m already tall at 5’10’’ and I’m not into tall heels. I don’t have the balance/experience needed to trot around on those adorable stilt like boots. I like more down to earth styles where you can walk into a Wal-Mart and not have the whole store staring at you thinking, “what in the world is this girl doing?” I like to keep it stylish but not too crazy if you know what I’m saying!

On my hunt for the perfect OTK boot I came across these black Free People & Jeffrey Campbell collaboration boots in black suede. I was sold immediately. They are still pretty tall and have a heel on them, but with the platform sole they are more stable when walking around.  Honestly I feel like a million bucks in them and you would too!  I love how they are a little baggy around the base for if you want to wear them with pants.  That way you don’t have to maneuver your pants around too much (because they aren’t skin tight on your calves). They are just perfect!! I would highly recommend them if you are in the OTK boot market. If you are a little reluctant about the price (I was at first!) I’ll be the first to tell you that almost all OTK boots are a little steep because they have so much material involved.  I also look forward to wearing them for years to come because of their high quality.  Because they are suede and not leather I feel like they wouldn’t trap too much heat in during the summer either.  Since spring is coming they will probably go on sale soon and maybe you can rock them all next fall/winter with a little more jingle in your pocket.  I linked to some similar boots that are already on sale. I was nervous about taking the plunge on these because they are right on the border of “Can I really wear these a lot?” but I took a chance and I am in LOVE. Officially my favorite pair of shoes I own!

I’m wearing a “Crème de la Crème” graphic tee over top a black shift dress. Unfortunately this shirt is old and I couldn’t find one just alike so I linked some similar graphic tees with cute sayings.  Just in case you aren’t up on common French phrases, the literal translation is “cream of the cream” and this means the “cream of the crop” in the U.S. of A.  I am by no means the cream of the crop, but I love the stripes and the way the shirt fits so I had to add it to this ensemble. I knotted the shirt on the side to show my waist and the dress underneath. The black shift underneath is your contemporary basic cotton shift dress. I love this little black dress because it’s casual, comfortable and versatile. I can wear it alone in the summer (its sleeveless) or layer over it in the winter (with tights/leggings too). It’s also a great price at under $50! I’m wearing a David Yurman bracelet and pearl earrings. You can get pearl earrings almost anywhere! They are a classic piece of jewelry I think every girl should have. I got my bracelet off E-bay with verification it is a genuine Yurman bracelet so I could circumvent the premium price. My mom actually found it on there! Pretty clever, huh?

I am currently heading back to Nashville after an unplanned 5-day stint in Florida with my family because of the passing of my grandmother. It’s no secret I will miss her terribly. However, it was nice to be able to spend time with my family during such a sad time. During my time off, I enjoyed many family dinners (with aunts, uncles, and cousins) some shopping, and catching up with old friends. I am thankful for a company that is so understanding and gave me the time off work to be with my family. It will be pretty different getting back into the swing of things come Tuesday. It is also suppose to snow this week. Yikess!! Driving on any amount of ice scares me to death!!

Well that’s a wrap on this outfit. I am hoping this coming week is far less eventful. Good luck to everyone pushing through his or her Monday after a late night Super bowl Party. I know my family and I enjoyed our chicken wings and cheese dip!

As always, thanks for reading!
